A bbq in the back garden this afternoon was a prime reason to test out the Samyang 85mm f1.4! Goodness I love this lens...and for £160 a right bargain!

All taken at f1.4 and no post processing at all apart from a resize. It's so sharp, and the way it separates the subject from the background is glorious Smile

Sharp, Sharp Sharp. May be too sharp for portraits! Smile
BTW congrats with the purchase. It is indeed at bargain price.

need to try some proper portraits under controlled lighting to see how it fairs in those conditions, but from what I have seen it makes a cracking prtrait lens!

Personally I don't understand this comment. I shoot mainly models and have yet to have a model complain that an image is too sharp, but they wont chose any images that are slightly soft.

Is it really as I hear it's really F1.6 or 1.7.
