It is looks to me a custom made lens , it is made from a vintage camera lens , perhaps from a folder camera and somebody made a focusing device to it from aluminum in a hardware shop. Usually not worth to take them, just if you are curious and not expensive. I bought a couple of similar one to feed my curiosity none of them was better than an average low prices SLR lens. _________________ -------------------------------

Looks a little like a Schacht, but I believe Attila is correct.
Somebody was copying the style of some late 1950's lens in a machine shop. They made a focusing barrel and SLR mount for some older lens. There are many devices like this.
This one is more nicely made than most though.
One interesting thing would be what lens they used.
There were plenty of large format 135mm lenses from the 1920's-1940's, as 135 was the standard lens for 9x12 films and plates.
Mostly these are triplet or tessar-formula f/4.5 lenses. These are usually fine performers, but you would only want them for the sake of curiosity.
Some are not so common - the Goerz Dagor, Voigtlander Heliar or Schneider Xenon, among other higher quality lenses, were also made in 135mm. There could be (unlikely, but possible) such a gem in that piece. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

Wow ! You did find it !
That is good Internet searching !
No, I don't know that make. You found something very new to me, at least. I don't know anything about French cameras.
It seems likely that the screwmount on that may not really be M42, if I am understanding correctly. The Foca screwmount camera was like the screwmount Leica.

I never realized this make existed. It looks like there were 500,000 or more of these Foca rangefinders made. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

Foca (Optique et Precision Levallois), Levallois, Paris, France.
They were advanced engineers in several fields, and produced a Camera Gun as early as 1923, with a
Precioptic f5.0/170mm. They may also have been involved with an anamorphic unit listed alsewhere. Later
they developed what they are best known for: the Foca 35mm and Focaflex SLR. The Foca was produced
quickly after the War and had an innovative viewfinder rangefinder system (B.J.A. 1949, p165). The first were
available at least by early 1946 (P-F-11 model) and a new model for 1947 was speeded to 1/1000 sec and had
a coated f1.9 lens. (S= screw mount, B= bayonet).
for Foca rangefinder:
Microfoca reflex housing with choice of lenses including:
Teleoplar 200mm; Macroplar 200mm; Macroplar 105mm and a special very high definition Macroplar
50mm lens. There was also a 'curious' Macrorep lenshead giving 2 foci of 50 and 105mm depending how it
was mounted. |

Hi KarelDH.
Bonjour, cher ami belge.
Here is a link towards some informations about foca :
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/opl/html/foca_pf2bis.php
enjoy.
These are beautiful lenses.
I don't know wether they're good or not. It's a F4.5 135mm so it is not very luminous.
But I think you don't take many risks with a 135mm.
It seems Foca is also known as "OPL"
Here is a 4.5/135 modified for M42 :
