So I've finally got into P6 system and simply fell in love with it . The Sonnar 180mm performs amazingly with portraits, but now I'm interested in some landscape work. Could you recommend something? Probably the best bet would be Flektogon 50mm, but maybe there's something cheap & nice I don't know of? _________________ "Any good modern lens is corrected for maximum definition at the larger stops. Thanks, I was thinking about something from the former USSR, they made a lot of good glass . The Zodiak 30mm would be superb, but it's even more expensive than Zeiss . _________________ "Any good modern lens is corrected for maximum definition at the larger stops. Well, it's probably wise to buy scratched lenses to save money. The front element of my Sonnar is pretty messed up, but I didn't see any significant loss of sharpness or contrast. And I paid only about half of the original price . I'm only worried about the scratches on wide lens. It has smaller aperture and larger DOF, so some imperfections of the glass could be seen on the final print/scan, especially when stopped down :/. _________________ "Any good modern lens is corrected for maximum definition at the larger stops. Not true, works well with some scratches any lens even wide one. I did try 28mm and 35mm lenses with scratches. _________________ -------------------------------

I've got a chance to buy a little scratched 50mm Flek for ~$100. If the front glass imperfections won't affect the IQ like in Sonnar, then I think it's a bargain . _________________ "Any good modern lens is corrected for maximum definition at the larger stops. Huh? I sold one during the last camera fair for $140, including the M42 adapter, and it took me the whole day to sell. You can find them cheap - just don't look at inflated BIN prices. (It was a very sharp lens, mind you... but a 30mm lens this huge made no sense on my 5D, so it had to go to someone hopefully shooting medium format). _________________ List of lenses |

I am also looking for a P6 wide angle. I will probably get the CZJ 50mm Flek at some point, but I was thinking I'd like a wide-angle that takes smaller filters. Does anyone have any experience with the Mir 38b 65mm lens? Is it sharp enough to use on a digital crop sensor with a tilt adapter? Thanks! |
