Hi all, new to the forum but with a few questions I figure you may be able to answer for me.

I shoot Nikon and want to avoid paying $2000 for their PC-e tilt shift lenses.

I am looking at a PB-4 tilt shift bellows attachment BUT need a lens to focus way past the normal focal plane distance.

Figure an enlarger lens may be the answer. I know little or nothing about them.

1) can the Nikon enlarger mount be easily changed to Nikon F mount ?

2) what sort of focal plane distances do the Nikon enlarger lenses use?

3) which of the Nikon lenses is the best PQ wise. Or should I be looking at other brands?

4) They must have a working diaphram/aperture blades

Ideas Please?

I'm not really sure what you are asking, or what your application is.

Recommend for quality the El-nikkors, Rodenstock Rodagons and Schneider Componon-S line. Many have M39 thread except for 150mm+. You can buy a Nikon/M39 adapter very cheaply on Amazon or fleabay, which will allow you to mount on the PB4. Many people on this forum use this type of setup for macro. I find it a lot of fun.

Thanks for the replies.

The application is Tilt/shift with the ability to focus at infinity using a PB-4.

As I asked this a few weeks ago. Since I have actually bought the Nikon 28 F3.5 PC lens which gives me shift functions and will have to be enough for the moment as I ran out of cash. Sad

With a 50mm enlarger lens on my NEX-7 with an ~1cm M-mount adapter to attach my bellows I can't get infinity, 70mm does.
If you are using an DSLR with bellows, you may have better luck with medium/large format lenses.
With something like a NEX & M4/3 you can use a T/S lens with a tilting adapter to gain large format type movements.

I thought I may be able to use a Harblei tilt adaptor which costs $85 with my shift lens. But again it wont focus at infinity.

Basically it all got too hard. If you cant afford a PC-E lens dont bother.

The bellows solution may be possible BUT if you want wide angle it isnt a solution.

Which one? They are available in several focal lengths and apertures.

Meogon S 2.8/50. Unfortunately I can't take sample pictures next weekend as I have absolutely too much to carry and I won't take tripod and macro focusing rail with me.
