Here a couple of observations since I got the X100. One is good, the
other is sort of "bad".

The "bad" first:
The little Menu/OK button surrounded by the rocker wheel is VERY
difficult to operate. Invariably, I accidentally hit the button and bring
up the adjustments that surround the button on the wheel. In order to
work the menu button, I have to use a fingernail and be very careful.
It is a very small button.

The "good" second:
I'm not an interested video shooter. However, I did take recent video
of the birth of my granddaughter. The result was amazing! The high-
definition blew me away. Shocked The low light capability is first-rate,
and the focusing was quick when turning the camera. I was shooting
video at one time in almost completely dark environment, and it produced
beautiful results.

Also, the battery seems to last quite a while, though I don't have any
other camera at present to compare it with. On the fully charged
battery, I took 36 minutes total video, and about 220 still images -
with full "chimping". The previous charge on all still images gave me
470 images before the battery was exhausted. I'm sure there could be
more than that if I don't chimp the images. Images were taken at the
highest JPEG setting. At this rate, I would need about 3 batteries for
4 solid days of constant shooting. Also, I have just a 2GB card, and
will probably get another 4GB card, which should give me all I need.

I was also amazed on same way by Sony Nex , video , high ISO just perfect. I suggest to take one SONY-NEX as a second hand item if you wouldn't like to spend much money it will be nice company to you also with some small tele lens in hiking.
