Hi All,

Is this an 8mm Cine lens? I know nothing about cine lenses for the most part, but I wouldn't imagine a 16mm/C-mount Biotar would be 12.5mm focal length. I would assume it would be more like 25mm?

Practically no matter this is a 8 or 16mm lens in my opinion, 12mm focal length is too short to cover m4/3 sensor well... but wait a minute I saw some KODAK lens with D mount (8mm cine lens) which did cover APS-C Shocked Sony NEX sensor when we did try it out , but it was longer focal length lens.

So basically, who know, only way to find out is to try.

Some 12.5mm lenses nearly cover the sensor of m4/3 such as the Yashica 12.5mm TV.

Looks too small of a mount to be c-mount, so I say D mount.

As Attila says, useless unless of longer f l, say 30mm or so for no vignetting. BUT, GH2 will accept smaller focal lengths in ECT mode. Good luck on buying a GH2, always out of stock at the moment!

Only way to attach a D-mount to a camera is to use the body cap! I am waiting for the clever artisans of China to machine a few hundred D-mount to m4/3 mounts for us ..... could be some time! Some Japanese hobbyists are adapting the d-mounts to point and shoot cams ...

So, I advise that you steer clear?

G'day, mate!

I think he cropped all the examples you saw? There is strong vignetting, quite attractive for many subjects, in this example and it is wide open, 1.5, out of a 1.3 lens.

Still desirable, but like nearly every wide lens I have tested so far, vignettes rule, OK? I may be wrong..... but it is dreadful physics at work!
