An interesting idea, except for the power source part. Given that, I'm wondering if it might be easier to DIY a Bluetooth setup. My laptop is Bluetooth compatible, for example, so all I would need for 10 meters of wireless roaming would be a transmitter for the camera. Or so it would seem. I wonder if the Bluetooth's power requirements are less or about the same . . .

I don't like the wireless part.

What's the point ? eye-fi cards do exist.
For canon there is even a wireless lcd viewfinder available.

If you use CF-II>SD adaptors, they can work, mixed results though. Most adaptors are, for some reason, CF-I, so take care when buying the adaptor.

E(vil)-bay has a lot more selection and cheaper:)

It will not works as the camera does not support SDIO.
