if you live somewhere like me, Ironbridge, which is a World Heritage site and a massive tourist attraction, then you will see them used all the time. But I will add that it is mainly Japanese tourists that some days arrive in convoys of coaches. And as everyone knows, the Japanese love to be included in the picture.
I have honestly seen the wall by the Worlds first iron bridge laden with young Japanese people sat there with the bridge in the background and all holding these things out in front of them, maybe 10 or 15 of them!
