OK, my Nikkor ED IF 300/4.5 has got a few small, usage scatches to the body ( Laughing ) and a few small marks to the glass ( Wink ), but you know what? It still works like a charm Smile

Without the teleconverter

I think the lens has some nice bokeh and is sharp enough by f5.6. With the TC, there is some CA, but it's still good fun to use Smile

Sadly, this will be one of my casualties needed to fund a new Vario-Sonnar, but it's been fun nonetheless!

Totally agree! I found this lens to out perform my mint Zuiko 300/4.5 which had a lot more CA. It's not as sharp as the newer Canon 300/4L, but then that is a much more modern lens!

Anyway, this is just another example of a well used lens that just keeps on going Cool

Beauty shots!

I just won a Canon FD 300/5.6 on eBay. I see there are three versions of this lens; it is the one with a 55mm filter thread. No idea if it is good or not as it is hard to get information. Sure hope it will produce as good results as your old beater.

300mm f5.6 says it is a budget level lens, I expect average good results. I look forward your report my knowledge is very limited about Canon lenses.
