The microscop adapters I work with looked not like this. The had a chrome steel part that is mountet inside the microscope tube.

I think it look very much like my Super8 film copy tool.
On the right side the T2 mount or something like this, and if you open the knureld head screw on the left side you find the place where the film window is. I suppose the film should lay between the chrome knuckles.
But: I am not sure where the light comes in in that pictured thing.
