I tried this very small mirrorlens on the Alfa500. Camera and lens appeared to be good friends with some help of the steadyshot from the camera. The 300mm mirror has hardly any mass and on a non-stabilized camera it can be quite challeinging to avoid any camerashake.

Nice results! Could you please post some pics of the lens? I suspect it's the same as the lens branded "Chinon" and "Super Travenon":

I will try to make some time to shoot some pictures of the lens. Reading your story, it is almost sure the same as yours. Pictures need some postprocessing and the trashbin never had such fine days.
On the positive side: nobody on the streets expects this tiny little thing to be a 300mm(as it is hardly bigger than a 85mm) and that makes it a kind of secret weapon for life portraits.
