Lately I got myself one of those 'bokeh monsters': the Meyer Orestor 135mm f/2.8. In the shots below I have tried to work only at full aperture, i.e. f/2.8. The lens was mounted on my Pentax K10D.

Hope you like them!

Thanks for the welcome Poilu. I had not yet figured out why the pictures did not show up but at least this will be addressed.

I hope to post many more pictures made with MF lenses!

One word - superb, Peter. Cool

These are far more than test shots so I moved them to the gallery. Smile

And welcome by the way. Smile

Actually VERY nice picture makings, congats Spotmatic.
Obviously you have talent, also the lens is nicer than I thought.
This lens is the same as Prakticar 135/2.8 Meyer made, isn't it?
I should use it more, although I am not good at using tele-lenses. Embarassed

Welcome, Peter!
Nice shots, this lens is a keeper!.
How do you use it with the K10D, are you using Av or M and pressing the green button?.

Kind regards,
Jes.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I guess this forum suits my shooting style (I always use old MF lenses where possible, just for fun but also because I want to slow myself down a little).

The lens surely is a keeper. It may not be the sharpest in my bag but it would lose a lot of its unique characteristics if it was completely computer-designed to provide the best sharpness. I often call this "designed completely dead" to describe modern lenses without a soul. Aberrations are not always unwanted!

Regarding its usage: I have the camera in Av mode. Pressing the green button is not necessary because the lens is always stopped down. And I use it mostly wide open (that's what I bought it for).

They're showing on your original post now Peter so I've removed them from mine to make the thread more manageable. Smile
