To repeat myself, these are experimental. Again, I'm seeing very good
detail in the shadows, especially in these cases of huge contrast.

All shot at ISO 12.

This first image was USM at 54/2/2. Although it looks as though there is
no good shadow detail, I have to bear in mind that there was poor light
here, and the shadows were almost black.

Attila! I'll soon scan some color images to keep you from getting
crazy! Haha!

These Sword Ferns (Polystichum munitum) were outlined with ice
on all the edges, which made a sort of nice effect.

This outcropping of bedrock had a lot contrast and "rock grain". I did
not sharpen, but I am sure it could benefit from sharpening if it was
ever prepared for print. Cropped out some busy areas.

Good shadow detail. Applied USM at 80/1/1.

Yeah, the fern shot is awesome. I have a couple rolls of Efke R25... some of the very few ISO25 films I have (except for all my Velvias, which I rate at ISO25 Very Happy ). They're curly as hell though! Very Happy

They ARE curly as hell! I have to tape the edges to be able to get my
scanner lid down, so they won't curl up into a circle! Razz

Thanks Jes! I was not looking for any critiques, just wanted to show the
nature of the film. But....I'll take the compliment from you! Very Happy

That must mean that I'M insane. Laughing I do like the overall rendition of
the Efke film, and the black and white transparencies scan more easily
than ANY other transparency I've scanned. With these scanning results,
I really don't have to spend a lot of time "reprocessing".

I will try a print soon, which will give me a real-world idea of how the
film is performing. It's just such a crap shoot trying to show the
clarity on a monitor. Looking at the transparencies on a light box, I'm
finding the clarity equal to Velvia and Provia.

It seems somehow weird to be looking at a b&w transparency on a light
box. They "jump" at me through the 5x loupe'. Laughing
