Two new lenses have arrived!

Good day today! (Apart from the the fact that I realized that I made a mistake that cost me €50,-. Sad But it's for something that I am really looking forward to, so I don't care. Very Happy)

I got two new lenses today:

(Just a quick snap on my dark study at ISO6400 and underexposed by one step, so effectively even higher ISO with the NEX and cropped.)

First, Riku's Tamron SP 2.8-3.8/35-80 arrived in record speed. Sent on Monday from Finland, delivered today to my place!! Thanks, Riku!

It really seems to be a very nice lens. What I especially like it it its "allround" abilities: 35-80 = nice, useful FL on the 5D; great macro setting; compact size. I guess it will accompany me on my trip in April. Wink

The second lens is another very special one that I bought for my NEX: an extremely compact Schneider-Kreuznach Tele-Xenar 3.8/75. Originally made for Robot Star cameras this lens is used in German radar speed traps!! I got it as a new copy which was never built inside such a speed camera box. The diameter is 47mm (thickest part) and the length is 46mm incl. mount. It's really small.
The problem was how to mount it to my NEX. There is no Robot-NEX-adapter.
So I built one by using a Russian M39-mount which is big enough to host the Robot bayonet and a NEX body cap. I drilled a 38mm hole inside the body cap and could screw in the M39-thread. Then I blu-tack'ed the Xenar into the M39-rear part and fixed it with grub screws. It's not perfect, but it works. I can get infinity but lose a bit for close ups (which reall doesn't matter).
This lens is so compact that it will replace my Steinheil Culminar in my NEX bag. Wink

It is kind of funny to shoot with a lens that has shot me several times. Laughing Laughing

You'll certainly love the Robot, a very interesting and sharp lens, see:

And don't forget its brother, the even more interesting Xenon 1.9/40mm!!

Cool! Thanks for the link.

How do you adapt Robot lenses?

Easy for Lumix as there is a chines seller who made such an adaptor: hawkpeng on ebay.

Just looked for him. He doesn't offer anything ATM.
May I ask you for a favour? If you ever encounter a Robot-NEX-adapter somewhere, could you please tell me?

The thing is that Robot (and only Robot) uses a register distance of 31mm.
So no other adapter can be rebuilt. Sad

Thus I had to built one on my own.
