Time to try out the new camera Plus I wanted to test the CZ Vario-Sonnar 80-200/4 with the Kenko DGX 300 Pro 1.4x teleconverter.
Weather was miserable, so needed to use some real high ISO

Thanks Attila, luckily the rain was not too heavy and my favourite snow leopards were out to play! The male (not in these pictures), Indeever, responds to his name now...he moans a bit and walks right up to me _________________ Graham - Moderator

Thanks for the comments I keep forgetting about the swivel screen though! I think it will be most useful for tripod work, macro and possibly videoing. The screen resolution and brightness is stunning, much like that of the 500D only wider _________________ Graham - Moderator

High iso performance with the new cam (canon 60D, pentax K5, nikon D7000,etc..) impressed me also a lot...my Nikon D700 wich was reputed regarding high iso is now I'm afraid out of competition .... _________________ All my lenses are for sale, nikkor, Angenieux, Zeiss etc.....

But new Nikons are said to be very, very good.

BTW, I would imagine the D700 will still blow away the 60D, D7000, K-5 etc. at higher ISO, especially at full size But it's still very useful to have the capability, and noise control is really good with these new APS-C cameras _________________ Graham - Moderator

Yeah, I'm not lusting for a nicer body to give me extra megapixels, but rather the perfectly usable high ISO settings.
Great shots, the snow leopard with the tongue sticking out will soon have a LOLCATS caption and be all over the internet. |

Very convincing photos! I especially like #1,2 and 7. Well done!
You make me wonder if the 80-200 Vario-Sonnar is as good as the 35-70 Vario-Sonnar. And I have promised myself to buy at most 3 lenses in 2011!
Note: I do not think we can really judge ISO performance at this size.
Resizing removes much of the noise and also makes it more difficult to discern. _________________ Νίκος • www.diafragma.gr
