I finally found some time to sort out my photos from late October.

A quiz for you:
Which of these crops is the center of the frame and which is the corner?

Zeiss 2/100 Makro Planar ZE @ f/5.6, 1/1250 sec.
This thing is sharp...

Crop #1

Crop #2

I will post the whole frame after I get a few opinions.

Since you posting it here then you obviously missed center focus so:

Crop #1 =center
Crop #2 =border

Razz

Πλάκα κάνω Νικο Very Happy

Normally corners in most lenses are weaker than the center but from the nearly perfect MTF of the Planar , sharpness is even in all the frame at all apertures.

Since your quiz was obvious I stated the opposite to counterattacked the bluff and blamed it to missed focus Confused Very Happy

(I like to win in quizes ) Embarassed

.... just to add that some CA in 1 make it more part of the border than the #2

#1 is corner, #2 is center. Bokeh CA is more pronounced towards corners, and #1 shows some.

Luckily, I am not able to see the CA you are talking about Smile
What color is it?

# 1 is corner

Green

I don't know what monitor you are using, but in #1 it is plain evident in 2 spots and visible in 4.

My monitor is very good and calibrated (EIZO SX2461W).
BUT I am color-blind Laughing
I have the biggest issues with greens and reds...

Consider yourself lucky Cool because apart from B/W conversion, bokeh CA is quite complicated to remove in post-processing.

My situation is not that bad Shocked
This is exactly the color I understand as red.
But if you make it darker (towards brown) or lighter (towards orange), I would have a real issue to name the color.

By the way, I have great difficulty to understand what you are pointing out as CA Laughing I see nothing strange in these circles...

It's there Wink

It like colour bleeding when you paint.

By the way how did you see the CA in your 2/35 ZE @2 if you cannot see those ??? Strange Confused

Can you see the lateral CA in this pics for example? :

or axial CA in this one from a Leica M lens (purple and green) :

Yes, I can see purple fringing. At least in these shots.
But this does not mean we see the same thing.

Photoshop has a color proofing mode called "deuteranope" which tries to simulate my problem.
Perhaps it can help you understand. I have not tried it, so I cannot say how good it does the job.
My EIZO monitor also has a "deuteranope" mode. When I enable it, I hardly see any difference.

I don't consider it as serious CA anyway ... it was just the excuse to find the border pic in the quiz.

Initially I only saw the purple(very little anyway to bother about it) but as was indicated by the other guys there is also green so I searched for it Embarassed

Laughing Laughing

Guys... just consider this... since I joined this Forum I'm counting number of aperture blades in OOF of movies at the cinemas.. Laughing Laughing Laughing Shocked

Yes! I even watched the "Taxi driver" to see the triangular OOF.
We have become deranged...
Guess who is to blame about this!!

I also have what is commonly called red/green color blindness-

http://waynesword.palomar.edu/colorbl1.htm

This link shows what is supposed to be a color chart as seen by us people, however, I can see all the colors when shown like this, it is when reds/greens and browns are side by side that I cannot see the difference. Such as when there is red text across a green background.

I prefer to work in B&W due to this, otherwise people keep telling me about that imaginative problem called CA. Wink

As indicated by the CA I cannot see ( Laughing ), #1 is corner and #2 is center.
But the background in the corner is significantly lighter, so I think it is natural to show more CA.

Here is the whole frame:

that's some serious sharpness. But in 100% corners of lens always has more CA than center, and it can be seen on these pictures.

I really hate CA (purple frigering...) on my pictures, even if you correct it in ps or acr there is still some sort of gray shadow or gray blur around edges.

But this is no problem in your pictures, there is really small amount of CA, or zero if you look at the whole frame
