I got this lens offered for Canon FD mount.
Any opinion about it? I think to buy it if it is special in some regard. Not if it is average, same as much o ther 80-200 zooms. |

Well if it's some help:-I only have the Kiron 70-210 f4 zoomlock and my copy is just OK so I don't use it, instead use the Kiron 80-200 f4 (non zoomlock) this at 200mm gives equal IQ compared to my Canon 200mm f4 prime..erm so I don't use that (the prime) either. _________________ Canon A1, AV1, T70 & T90, EOS 300 and EOS300v, Chinon CE and CP-7M. I have the 70-210 F/4 Zoomlock and it gives very good results. The problem is that its 1KG weight means it doesn't go out on many walking trips with me!
Not sure if this applies to the 80-200 though, I imagine they are very similar lenses. |

This is also marked as macro, right? I had a K mount version for a while. It's a good zoom from that era. Fairly sharp, but vulnerable to PF in strong light situations. I found it mentioned in a list of cult lenses, so at least some people would consider it special. I liked the zoom lock feature of this lens a lot - I wish every push pull zoom had one.
Here's a sample shot, I have a couple more in this folder:
