I might buy another 35mm and I am currently looking at these with the same price.
I notice the smc has a 49 filter size and the super has a 67 filter size.
Not sure what I got for aperature blades yet, as I'll need to look this up, but the filter size diff intrigues me.

Any opinions on these lens?
Thanks in advance! Very Happy

well, if a lens maker advances so much in lens design, that its engineers were able to squeeze the same speed (f2) into a smaller lens, then the SMC version can't be bad. How bokeh looks like is a very different issue though, as that was not one of their restrictions to fulfil. I'm sure teh 67mm version is also much heavier.

40% heavier.

On my site :

Some say that the V1 is sharper, I did not notice anything strongly marked yet.

I'm not sure it was clear. I meant that I did not see any great difference between the two lenses yet Wink

Super Multi Coated (smaller one) would have full aperature lightmeter coupling, which may or may not, be of value to you.
Cheers, Pickles.

slang for 'remarkable'

"marked" could also mean having a scratch on the lens surface!

English pronunciation decides meaning.

One syllable, marked means a scratch, letter, number, etc., i.e. a marking.

Two syllables, mark-ed means distinguished from another or others, i.e. mark-ed better performance, or, one is remarkable compared to the other(s), usually refers to the better one.

I think in French as used 'neither lens is marked' is short for 'neither lens is remarkable compared to the other'.

Remarkable is itself slang, referring to 'can be marked (distinguished) over and over (re-marked and re-marked) again', as in 'That is remarkable!'

Thank for the lecture! I only speak English since about 40 years or so, but I continuously learn more about it... Wink

Puzzled!
I have a Super-Takumar 35mm 2.0, with filterthread 49mm, not 67mm.
