I think maximum what I pay for Soligor that is 300 USD. No reason to pay more if I can buy a Nikon around 500 USD. _________________ -------------------------------

What about the Spiratone/Sigmatel 135mm f1.8 or perhaps the Porst version?

And another with the same images but this time with 100% crops:

Optically, I think the Soligor is a far superior lens to the Porst in the 135mm range. If you look around, the 72mm filter sized lenses are much better optically than the 77mm filter sized ones. In addition, the C/D on the Soligor stands for Computer Designed and was Soligor's top of the line in the 70's, competing with the excellent Tamron SP and Vivitar Series 1 lenses.
I recently got the Soligor 135mm f2.0 C/D in a MD mount, but have not yet got a chance to shoot with it. My only Minolta body is an X700 film camera. As I understand it, the MD and CD mounts are sought after now by many Four Thirds digital systems users. _________________ DSLR: Pentax K-3 II, D-BG5 grip, SLR: Pentax SP500, Pentax SP, Pentax SP II, Pentax Spotmatic F, MX, ME-Super, Super Program, pZ-1

MD flange distance is shorter than M42. If it was longer, it might be possible. I think some adapters introduce an optical element to make flange distance differences work, but most people don't care for the extra optical element in the equation. _________________ DSLR: Pentax K-3 II, D-BG5 grip, SLR: Pentax SP500, Pentax SP, Pentax SP II, Pentax Spotmatic F, MX, ME-Super, Super Program, pZ-1

The 135/2 cd (tokina made) is a medium/good lens .. Low on constrast at f2
The vivitar s1 135 2.3 is better at full (a little bit lower) app.
Price of 200/300$ is too high for a medium quality lens _________________ OM USER .. I KEEP/USE:

It is real sharp wide open, if you can focus, hehe.
Quality seems excellent in my copy, but I guess they vary.
