SF Zoo in Winter

Mixed weather, sun, overcast, rain

Most with the Tamron Nestar 400/6.9. This is a very useful piece of equipment. It folds down to fit in a coat pocket, so I went light, no bag.

This is a very sharp lens, as good as it gets on my sensor even at f/6.9. The compromise is that the minimum focus is long (30ft/10m) and it flares some.

With Tamron Nestar 400/6.9

With Sears (Ricoh) 55/1.4

Those are the sharpest shots I have ever seen from this old lens.
Also excellent photos.
These lenses are not that common but when they do appear they often go for peanuts. I’m going to keep my eyes open for one.

Fantastic results! I've just tested mine against a stack of other 400mm primes and it blows them away Shocked And this thing is really light at only 671g Shocked Shocked
