Thread size for enlarger lens?

I'm trying to find out what the thread is on the rear of enlarger lens. It is not the standard M39 although it is very close. It seems to be a finer thread than the standard M39 so it will start to mate but will not go far before it binds. Does anyone know what the proper thread dimensions are for this lens or how I can find out. I'm trying to adapt it to an M42/Nikon adapter so I need some kind of 39(?)-M42 adapter but the normal M39-M42 adapters simply don't fit the rear of the lens, as described above. I don't really want to have one made as this will be expensive. Any ideas?

Thanks
JJ

Leica thread mount (LTM) I woudl think. This is 39mm dia overall but with 26 threads per INCH instead of the 1mm pitch of M39, so it is very fractionally finer.

That sounds about right. I never knew what LTM meant, I've seen it on Evilbay, but that's all. Thanks.

I've never seen a LTM>M42 adapter but they might be available from someone like cameraquest. The register distance (28.8mm) of LTM lenses means you can only use them for macro work on an M42 camera. Did you check the register distance of this lens?

Friedrich were mostly a process camera and fixed installation equipment lens maker, where fine pitch metrical threads are quite common. But if it is just off M39x1, it will be LTM - a x0.75 or x0.5 thread won't even seem to fit M39x1 for half a turn.

I have used it on a PB-4 Nikon bellows, just gently fitting it to an M39-Nikon thread. The lens easily achieves infinity, as you would expect.
