Steve, some stunning shots! What does the serial # start with? Curious
as to manufacturer and this is not a Series I lens? For 1:1 capability, it
would have been a bargain at double the price! Would like to see a
pic of this lens, when it is at rest. Smile

Thanks for sharing,

Bill

I think 28 is Komine, and I know they make some sharp primes in 135
and 200 (cheap as chips on ebay, too). I'm on my laptop at work, but
that Pentax is a nice looking camera.

Thanks for the pics, Steve.

Well, congratulations for you lens and images too. Still a dedicated lens is the best solution for macro & closeup shots. I think I might look some one on ebay.
And this lens is not even a Series 1 Vivitar ! But, I think more important is the lens manufacturer.

Now that is one surprising lens. I have never been tempted by it in the past, but I guess I shall have to look out for it now. My one concern is that the OOF rendition can be a little disturbing, but this is offset by the sharpness and can be avoided.

Steve
Your pictures show how little that characteristic actually detracts in real life - I would not have made any comment except for the fourth one in your original series. All the rest are just fine. The sample is a great one since it shows you do have to be aware of it, but is easily avoided. That second series is also a killer.
