Tired from a day of walking up and down stairs and steep hills. Tomorrow the Blue Ridge Parkway and more fall foliage than one human should have to endure...Oh well...good thing I brought the camera along...LOL

Wow, the place is huge. How long did you take to walk from photo 1 to the main door of the mansion?

A little over 7 minutes. This is the largest house in the US.

Thats a house Confused Do people live there, one family ?

What do they do, is the owner a Mr B Gates Laughing

Descendants of the Vanderbilt family still own it but they do not live in it.

Mr. Gates has toured it but he had to tour it like everyone else. No special tour was allowed.

Shame about no indoor photography but understandable.Was it as amazing inside as outside?

I'm gonna get there one day....My wife & I are going up in the North Georgia mountains this weekend to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary...Hope to get Fall Foliage shots & will be headed to an Apple Festival in Ellijay. My wife wants to take in a Winery tour as well
