I just one a Vivitar 35mm f2.8 Tokina made lens off of Ebay.Hopefully it's worth my winning bid of a $1. Very Happy
Anyone have any samples?
I guess I'm a sucker for bargains. They are hard to pass up.It's funny, if it was M42, it would of received multiple bids. This one is in Canon FD mount.

Native mount Fd I think. The pics were put in wrong they won't blow up.
I'm guessing late 70"s. I forgot how you date a Vivitar.

Here is a link to the lens.

Later version fixed mount, mid-late 1970's I guess.

Probably quite decent.

Thank you. At that price I figured it was worth the gamble. A T4 version would of been nicer tho. Very Happy

A very decent lens and will perform nicely. Good acquisition.

From Ivor Matanle's Collecting And Using Classic SLRs. There's an image of Matanle's father using a chrome nose, Mamiya-Sekor badged version of this lens. Quoting the caption ..."which he regarded as a first-class lens".

It's a paper weight. If it was any other mount the fix would take seconds,
but wit a FD mount you have to take it apart and try to straigten it. Twisted Evil
It sucks. The optics are perfect and it's in wonderful shape except that little bend. The bend keeps the mount from turning enough to use the lens. Crying or Very sad

Still haven't repaired this one, but with the mount screws removed I did mount it on an adapter on my 10D. No way to focus tho except foot focus.
First try Vivitar Tokina 35 2.8 at 2.8.
