I've heard of Cambridge Cameras rebranding Zenit and other russian bodies, but what about lenses? Is this a Jupiter-9?

Also, I've heard Jupiter-9's quality control have gone down in the later years. What years should I be looking at for the best MC copy, optically and build-wise and can you tell the year from the SN?

Thanks.

Any information about the good years for a MC one? And how to tell what year it is from?

Definitely a Jupiter-9, and the serial number is generally a good way to determine the age. Russian/Soviet lens manufacturers tended to use the last two digits of the year as the first two digits of the serial #. So, 78XXXXXX would be a lens made in 1978 Wink
