I heard people had been excited by this but I wasn't expecting anything much different from Velvia in a Kodak version. Instead (if the first slide is anything to go by) it has a much wider tonal range making it far easier for the scanner to cope with the colours. This is straight out of the scanner with only the tiniest tweak to the black point and the colours seem to be bang on.

Looks great to me, what scanner is this, Paul? And don't be shy, I like to
pin up at least a 900x900 file when it's square. |

Epson V500. The pic is posted on my Flickr thread, for some reason the uploading system here didn't like it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/paulcowan/4958671184/ _________________ View or buy my photos at:

Largest file is 626 squared, not exactly a quantum leap from posted. Love
the colors in this film and nice shot, anyway. |

Here you are, then, try this:
BTW, this shot is an unusual, maybe even unique, view of a grossly over-photographed monument. You just can't get this shot with a rectangular format unless you have a crazily wide angle lens. I'm standing as far away as possible using the 50mm flek on the Pentacon Six. The shot absolutely everybody takes is square on to the fountain with none of the surrounding architecture, which is really very boring. _________________ View or buy my photos at:

That's more like it! Geez, look at them there colors! And you
get some decent shadow detail looking through that archway.
Excellent work, Paul! The 50 on a 6x6 must be close to a 28 in 35mm.(?) |
