Don't think this is a superb lens... Rense can produce this level with any glass ... _________________ -------------------------------

Yes, I've used this lens, though on film and quite a few years ago. I'd say that if it's in good condition you'll be pleased with the results. Not sure who made it, but it was sold here in the UK with a variety of names on it. Nicely put together and well finished, externally at least ! _________________ Stephen

Yes, its the same lens as my Komine made Vivitar 2.8/90mm.
I did a comparison in a german forum (use google translate to read)
http://www.digicamclub.de/showthread.php?12791-Vivitar-Panagor-Kiron-1-1-Makros-90-105mm-DCCMFTEST
And the next Url is directly to the presentation of the KOmine made Vivitar 2.8/90mm.. its equal to Panagor (only cosmetical differences)
http://www.digicamclub.de/showthread.php?12763-Vivitar-Komine-2.8-90mm-Makro-1-1
Cheers

I agree the Panagor 90/2.8 ,Elicar 90/2.5,and Vivitar 90/2.8 are the same Komine built lens...I also heard Soligor sold a version of this lens....not quite as good as the Series 1 90/2.5 or the even better Tokina 90/2.5....the Panagor can be susceptible to flare and a little soft wide open,so take care using wide open or where flare can be an issue... but a good macro lens non the less especially stopped down to f5.6 to f8 and still quite usable at f11 to f16.

I have to disagree with a couple of posts here - in my experience of owning the Panagor 90 f2.8, it was a top class macro ( true 1:1 without ext tubes )
I found this lens to be razor sharp across the frame
Its the equal of any 1:1 macro lens out there, including my current favourite Tamron 90 f2.5 + ext tube.
