Hi,

today I converted another lens, the Elmarit-R 2.8/135mm with a Nikon bayonet, 5 min to work.

Here few shots into the botany with Nikon D700. Exifs are partly wrong (focal lenght and aperture) due to missing chip.

At least it inspired you to make some decent pics!
Do you think the lens is better than Nikon glass?

Thank you.

I hope that I´m in the position to make some decent pics with my Nikon glasses as well. Shocked

To come to your question. No, overall I don´t really think so.

Maybe few types are slightly "better" - for example the 100 Macro Apo or my beloved 8/500er mirror. At the moment I use Leica lenses only >= 60mm because I own these and it is for me less expensive to convert these with a new bayonet instead of buying Nikon glasses.

Today you can trim every pic with adequate PP that noone knows the lens/cam.

Here few other shots with this combo - and yes I know there are some artefacts, but not due to oversharpening.

Maybe it is better to show such pics in a better quality within the Oversized
gallery.

Thanks for viewing and comments.

Fantastic Rolf ! I see your fingerprint on them, I don't think so this is Leica glass only, rather photographer knowledge.

You do PP a lot (not that I complain, it's all brilliantly done Wink ). If it's not to much of a trouble, could you post one of those flower shots as it came out of the camera?

Normally I didn´t work with too much PP but in this case I used a lot of the CS5 tools and some special plug-ins too.

The out-of-the-cam pic is not the same as the one showed above due to the fact that I made some adjustments in ACR 6.1 too which I have had to remove. Therefore another image (unfortunately a little bit blur) but similar.

Here we go

Thank you Attila. It is a good example how it is possible to "pimp" a bad image with adequate PP to something passable. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

PP is must on most images to get something really nice.

Well, I would like to have your skills with using of PP Shocked .....
My fav. is #2 from the 2nd serie, great colours and perfect PP....
I think it should be also interesting to see each image before and after PP, at least to be able too appreciate the IQ of the lens itself and not only your PP's skills Laughing .....
