Hello,
How would one go about checking for a SMC Takumar 50mm 1.4 clearing the mirror of a 5D at infinity? I heard some adaptors clear it while some don't. I want to see what happens with my setup without damaging either the lens or the camera!
Thank you

One quick way would be to mount the lens on adapter, only and see if it protrudes beyond the flange on the camera side [before mounting then adapter to the camera]. Then start playing with your caliper Laughing

personally, I wouldnt worry about the 50/1.4 Tak

I think all the Tak 1.4/50 have problems with mirror clearance.
I usually test lenses on my old EOS 300. You can find old EOS cams for almost nothing.
And normally, if they work on my EOS 300 and 50e, they also work on my 5D.
