Looks like Nikon Rangefinder mount?

There is mention of the lens here at Nikon's website:

http://imaging.nikon.com/products/imaging/technology/d-archives/history_e/index.htm

There is also brief mention of it at Camera Quest (scroll about 2/3 the way down, found under "Best Classic User Lenses."

http://www.cameraquest.com/usingthe.htm

And here's a fellow at Flickr shooting with an S2 and the 5cm/2 lens:

By all accounts, it's a fine optic. Now all you need is a Nikon RF camera to go with it.

Thanks cooltouch for your kind and helpful input !

So this lens was for Nikon Black Dial S2 which got focusing helical. Thats explains the lack of focusing helical in this lens which left me wonders.

I guess this will become another macro lens for DSLR Embarassed

I imagine it would work well for that. Me, I'd start saving up for an S2, though. Cool But that's just me. I do things like buy a lens because I picked up a lens hood for it and just had to have the lens to go with it. Stuff like that.

Ah I see. For me, I love some weird lenses I had not see or heard before. Often I got the wrong lens for the wrong purpose. LOL
