Do you have the 14-45? If not, I think it's worthwhile to get one with the lens as Panny is replacing the kit lens with the inferior 14-42, and 14-45 is pretty good for a kit lens. The kit is selling for about $400 on the bay now. |

Can't seem to find one that cheap (400) on the bay now? I found a body only for $399 but otherwise with kit lens they seem more in the $500+ range?
Am I missing something here?

i would like to make a note here.
Please don't compare prices among items from the US/Canada etc and Europe.
If a buyer in Europe buys from a seller in the US, he/she will have to pay for import taxes and VAT, thus making the price of the item considerably higher.
This may not apply for old and cheap lenses but it does apply for "new" and digital cameras and lenses. |

It does apply to old lenses. I had to pay import duties+VAT on my Canon FD bellows too... |

Oh, that's even worse!
I've bought however 2 or 3 zuikos from the US and didn't have to pay VAT or import taxes, maybe because the prices were below $99. |

Sorry, my bad. Do you need to pay VAT from items in UK as well? Most of these shipped to UK only though...

No, there is no VAT to be paid from items wherever in Europe.
Anyway, I am not interested in the G1 (I used to have one but I didn't like it). I was just making a point about the prices between the US and EU. |

Yeah, price limit is just above 20GBP here in Norway
(depends on currency)
25% tax on everything above + 12GBP extra fee
So a 25GBP lens is almost 45GBP before you have it
Price limit has been the same for 35 years ( 20GBP) and has not been index regulated
Those thieves and robbers... _________________ Lars | Manuellfokus.no |

In Denmark the limit is 80 dkk = 10 EUR.
25% VAT on everything if price is over 80 dkk + 20 EUR fee for tax handling. |
