Just got my Jupter 21M that I bought from Solidpace (thank you).

It seems just lovely. Here are some walk around shots from today in my hood. All shots at f/4 or 4.5.
(As usual, click on them and show in native resolution for best IQ)

Just an old sidewalk.

Wanna play?

A cat. This lens is very sharp from wide open and quite easy to nail focus with on my APS-C camera.

Bumble bee peak season it seems.

A rock drill, or something straight from Terminator 5

Lousy composition, only to show sharpness at some distance

We stopped at a bar and this is what the neighboring table ordered.

And this is my beer. Lovely bokeh and and the beer had a lovely bouquet of fresh hops.

On the way home I passed another Bumble bee favorite.

At home I had to shoot the neighbors old Puch bicycle.

And the session ended with some hot air balloons conveniently passing by rather close, F/8.

Cheers

It's a stunning lens isn't it ? even if a bit heavy. #1 is my favorite.

Nice story and images. No need for a more expensive lens. This is perfect.

Thanx for all comments.

The lens is great. Almost zero CA, sharp, contrasty and great colors from wide open.

Somewhat heavy, but I like the feeling, it is not worse to bring than my minolta beercan (70-210 f4). The beercan seems a tad sharper and contrasty wide open in the close range, but less sharp at some distance.

I thought of comparing the beercan and Jupiter more, but both are great and usable from wide open with beautiful bokeh, so I stop at that and enjoy the summer instead.

So the search for a fast CZJ 180 or 200 may end here. But I like faster lenses and hate CA, so I don't know how to do. But it was very cheap and I should be satisfied since it is very seldom I shoot anything over 85mm.

Great work, I love the bee pictures. My copy of the Jupiter is slowly starting to fall apart in my hands, but I use it nearly all the time since it still functions, I love it.
