Managed to score a Zenit with a helios 44-2 and a Jupiter 37a in excellent condition of ebay last week and here is the testing.
Yet another brilliant under appreciated russian lens.
So i now have 2x J11A 1x J37A, 2x Helios 44-2, 1x Helios 44-4, J9, J8 and i want to keep adding to my russian family.
Well this must be one of the last Jupiter 37A with a date of 90, so after communism fell.
So one would think the quality control may not have been so good, etc but i will let the images talk for them self's.

These are great Eddie, very rich colours and great bokeh, sharpness is typical too, my J11 and J11A are similar. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

How can you know the year of production with the serial number ?...
I have just bought a Tair 11A with serial number who begins with dubble 0 and was wondering about the year's production or/and the meaning of the dubble 0 .... _________________ All my lenses are for sale, nikkor, Angenieux, Zeiss etc.....

That Sonnar leaves such a gorgeous footprint. Lovely imaging!
Not sure about the whole 0 serial number thing though, I thought that theory was dismissed a while back. _________________ Graham - Moderator

I have one from 87. I've bought it some time ago for peanuts because it looked miserable and was full of sand. Little love (paper towel + new grease) and it's working smooth and results are making me happy:
