I am looking to purchase a zoom lens, say 35mm -100, give or take. and wants to be f2.2-2.8 It will live on a 5D2.
Any recommendations.?

Vivitar series 1 35-85 f2.8 cheap and pretty good one above 50mm , due
your superb camera body I believe it will be nice in wide range too.

Tamron SP 35-80mm f2.8 also an excellent lens. If you have more money take any Carl Zeiss Contax lens in this focal length.
