My girlfriend wants to sell her Planar 50/1.7. The lens is in excellent condition without any kind of optical problems. Both rings work great too.

No scratches, fungos or dust inside the lens. The body looks great and only one or two minimal paint loss in the edge (1 or 2mm).

I include one Kenko UV filter.

This one is the AEJ version.

Price: 150€ including shipping!

Still available! I think this is a fair price, since I'm including shipping and I offer one UV filter Smile

Hi Lazzaros,

You're right - it is a fair price. I hope you've managed to sell it but I notice that ebay (which seems to set the market price for C/Y Zeiss gear) prices for an AE 1.7 Planar are only about 90-110 Euros unless they're mint and boxed. It's a crazy old world.

Having said that, 4 years ago I bought quite a few old Contax and Yashica cameras (how else do you find spares these days?!) that all came with AE and MM Planars - they were almost being given away. Last year, I bought a 1.4 Planar from a London photo retailer for only £80 Laughing and a 1.7 for £45. He has obviously learned from his mistake as he has been asking a lot more of late.

It's been Canon EOS owners that pushed up the price of the old Contax Zeiss lenses but I think that will ease eventually. In the meantime, I hope you get/have got your price. Very Happy

Cheers.

Hello,

you are right, sometimes you can get better prices on ebay for 90£ I think that only in auctions. The buy it now prices are close to 150€ + postage and sometimes they are higher.

In this case the users have my trustable word as forum user (sometimes ebay can't be so secure).

Some months ago I got one Planar 50/1.4 for 65€ too hehe.

Great lens, a touch pricey though. Camera dealers in the UK and offering them for £80-100.

As an aside, I picked my 50/1.4 up for £18.00 delivered Laughing

I don"t know what "cheap" means Laughing but you can find planars (both 50 & 85) for a "i'll say cheap" price on amazon.de, because there are a lot of offers. I had a 85/1.4 mmj shining like a diam for 330€ including postage, and a 50/1.4 aej for 140€.

A lot of offers... when I do a search on "contax planar" I get no hits at all. Tell me where the offers are/how to find them please. Smile
