I am unsure this lens is made by Tomioka , result is ... weak.

I like the bokeh but not the POI, one stop could be sharper perhaps?

At the minimum focusing distance of 50cm and f=1,2 the depth of field is nearly 1-2mm. So the focus point is on the lower tulip in the white triangle - and there it is biting sharp.

The bayer array of digital cameras is weak in blue and red colors. Especially in larger red toned areas it is difficult for the camera interpolation software to catch the tonal ranges.

I wanted to show the pastel coloured creamy bokeh one gets with f=1,2.
If I want to get things sharp, I take my Planar 1,4/50 T* Very Happy

... and on the lens it is written "Tomioka Cosinon Auto 1,2/55"

Perhaps made by Cosina and licensed Tomioka name it would be nice to know truth.

I wouldn't expect the lens to be sharper than that at f1.2 to be honest. Looks like Tomioka were making lenses for a number of manufacturers including Chinon. The Chinon Tomioka 55/1.4 I tried "glowed" a bit wide open too Laughing

I have got a Revuenon Tomioka 1,4/55, too.
It glows at 1,4 the 1,2 is another scheme and doesn't glow that much.
I would have considered them equal but they aren't.
The barrel is also different - more like the Yashinon.

It had some coating defects and so it was cheeeeeap Very Happy
