Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm f2 T- in converted from Exakta mount to Sony/Minolta AF mount. The focusing ring was stiff and had to be lubed until the movement was fluid. The aluminum body was cleaned.
Sample shots taken at night.
(Pls. click to view moon shot larger.)
The next image is of students(marine biology-I think) in their kayaks at night, and the night train came into the frame with its lights on. .

It's great that you got this working on the Sony 2nd and 4th shots for me, shows the Biotar does more than just swirly stuff. I'm buying you a spirit level for Christmas though _________________ Graham - Moderator

Thanks,2&4 do seem to slightly tilt down to the right. In the third image the landscape\shoreline is coming towards me(to my right),like the train, so it appears to be dipping to the right more.
Thanks for noticing, I'll edit the levels in 2 and 4 in Lightroom. , and thanks in advance for the spirit level .
Cheers
P.S. I am anxiuos to check out the colors, swirls ,and bokeh this will produce in the day time some more. |

Yes, the Biotar 58/2 is the 'father' or should it be 'grandfather' of the Helios 44 series. _________________
