Time to play with this lens, that I got quite long ago. It comes in PK mount, so nice for the K-7 and the *istDS.

And some quick samples:

This one focused on the eye at the left:

I have to test it further, but it seems not bad at all...
More tests coming.

Thanks for your comment!. It looks quite sharp to me. What about using it for portraits?.

Are you sure you have 50 and not 55 in M42?

The 50 exists in M42 also, it is just not as common as the 55.

I have got its little brother, the 50/1.9. It performs much better than I had expected.

To my experience, most standard primes are very good performers. This Chinon seems to be no exception!

Works perfectly, as I know Chinon never produced any bad lens.

I may agree, but they also produced some average lenses. It's why the 135 I have seems to stay at home a lot.

There are at least 3 different versions of Chinon 135/f2.8 lenses.
Altough I don't know if Chinon ever produced their own lenses. It seems evything is being sold under Chinon name is made by other manufacturers like Tokina, Sun, Tomioka and others.
