One should almost always sharpen twice (when shooting in raw-format): capture sharpening and then output sharpening. Basicly that means one sharpening to counter the effect of AA-filter and/or diffraction and/or other softness, and then another after one has resized the image to output size (this can be skipped if no resizing).
You probably didn't sharpen after downsizing? One should always do that as downsizing does soften the image a little.
Anyhow, I like the one with the insect on the white leaf, and the first one too. |

What I mean by capture sharpening is sharpening in the raw-conversion program. You are right that the camera sharpening settings are irrelevant when shooting rawe. |
