Winter Jasmine (Jasminum nudiflorum) in human vision, reflected UV, simulated bee and butterfly vision (left to right, top to bottom) shot using a UV Nikkor 4.5/105mm and various filters on a multipectral converted LUMIX GH5 with a modified Xenon studio flash.

Bees and Butterflies see reflected UV (peak around 360-370nm which is about the peak of that flower UV refelection!), land on that bright petal, then crawl towards the UV-dark center to find nectar, and the flower gets pollinated: both win!

Winter Jasmine is called "迎春花" in Chinese which means "the flower that welcomes Spring". It is one of the commonly seen Lunar New Year Flowers.

Very nice Calvin! Indeed it is one of the first to flower, often even covered with some snow... Like 1 small Like 1 small
