Olympus Pen E-P1
14-42 (kit)

You need a operation room, and if your not a DIY type also a doctor.

Some tools.

Mount the protection to the hole.

Testing the hole.

Why does the cow need a hole?

I believe it is a project to optimizes the food we are giving the animals. Normally payed by big US companies.

BUT, lets not discuss that, please comment on the pictures. I am beginning to really like the 14-42 kit lens.

that's great technology, the cows doesn't have to eat anymore, grass is inserted in the stomach at once

Very well, then. Confused

The pictures show me a gastrostomy which is not explained,
and makes me wonder why it was done in the first place.
I would think that various tests and research can be conducted
without carving open a living cow and planting an ostomy washer
into her side, so I am left with various questions about the validity
and necessity of this procedure after viewing these pictures.

One picture depicts a human with his forearm inside the cow;
why is that necessary?

Another picture depicts a weathersealed plumbing opening to the cow's insides;
what measures have been taken to protect the cow from disease and infection?

How will the ostomy be protected and kept clean?

Whatever happened to taking urine and stool samples?

I'm sorry, but I find this picture series to be bizarre and rather gross.
While I'm reasonably certain that some people have fully justified and
argued their reasons for cutting a gaping hole into the digestive tract
of a living cow and sticking a washer into her, I honestly fail to appreciate
what I have seen in these pictures.

*EDIT*
Removed nonsensical ramblings

As said by Mo, these pictures demand some sort of explanation.

Sorry for going off topic but it is a series of pictures that provokes questions and needs some explanations.

As for the photos I do like photo 2 very crisp/sharp.
