And I think that this D100 is a nice offer: (same site)

A second hand 5D with battery grip in good condition usually cost around $1100 here without warranty.

Very surprised to see this. I thought HK is the mecca of cameras! Confused

750GBP is still pretty steep imo.

Even with 1 year warranty? Confused They much go for little to nothing then in Germany?

From my experience, you won't find a cheaper 5D with 1 year warranty. You might find a fully functional one that has seen plenty of actions, but you bet with no warranty.

For example, I picked up a Nikon D2H for less than €300, but is it well used with over 110K shutter counts!

+1 from me. That's about right for UK prices. Supply and demand.

If you don't mind handling a bulky and heavy camera, then the 5D can't be beaten by anything at the moment in terms of value for money and the IQ (resolution and WA application for MF lenses) it can produce even at ISO 1600. Smile

Another advantage I find compared with shooting with my E-510 is that you can crop the image without loosing too much definition.

I didn't notice the 1 year warranty. I've seen two very nice looking 5D's with 6 or 3 month warranty go in a webshop for 725 euros. The usual prices I see are a bit higher (750-800) but those are private sales with no warranty.

I think the 5D isn't that bulky and heavy. The x0D series and 7D are practically as big and heavy. I'm probably going to add a battery grip though because my hands sometimes have a bit of trouble gripping the body, especially with a longer lens attached. Wink

I think you could make money on EBay and at Canon forums.

Certainly less bulky than the Canon FF 1Ds body, especially without a grip - and cheaper too! Mine will have to keep me very appy - and it does - until I can afford a 1Ds II or III.

I have thought about a 1DsII, but no Live View makes it not worth the premium for me. LV is indispensable for critical focusing (especially wideangle lenses). So 5DmkII will be next, probably. Sony Alpha A850 is very attractive too due to better colors than Canon, but a bit more expensive and I'd also need to start buying Leitax mounts...
