After long time brake I made a review again.

http://www.mflenses.com/flektogon-50mm-f4-mc-lens-review.html

Please tell me your opinion about this lens I would like to publish there at user comments! It would be also very nice if somebody fix my language mistakes and send me correction in pm. Many thanks in advance!

Nice to see your reviews back, Attila.

Thank you. Very Happy

Hi,

Well, here is my opinion:

Used on a K10D with an adapter ring, the lens, although quite heavy, balances well with the camera. Easy to focus, with typical Zeiss contrast and color rendering, not prone to flare even when shooting directly at light, and the distortion is very well corrected.

A really fine piece of metal and glass to enjoy.

Now, should really find a cheap T&S adapter for P/K ...

Cheers

Can anyone also tell about the tilt-shift adapter to be used with this lense ?

Funny that you asked. Saw this on ebay FYI.

This one tilts.

I agree with indianidos, although I use mine with the Nikon D700. Colours are nice, the center is sharp, but if you want to have a lense that is sharp into the corners at - let's say - f 4 or f 5.6 , you probably better look elsewhere.

Thomas

P.S: I have two and also a Flek 65, so I'm going to sell one of the 50/4. Just check the market-place

I enjoy myself very well shooting with CZJ Flek 50/4 on my D700 Cool . It's heavy like hell, but I ignore it for now.
I did some tests against Nikkor 50/1.8D AF and I've got very interesting results. After I dig through it, I'll post the
results here (if there is an interest of coz).

Here is an example of using ARAX SHIFT Adapter which is I believe the same as described on posted eBay link.

Thank you Attila for updated review. I agree, but I wouldn't say using Flek on DSLR is silly idea, at least it might be
just an experiment or using T/S adapter it might make more sense. At least to me though Laughing .

Hello Attila.

I got this black Carl Zeiss Jena DDR Flektogon 4/50mm P6.
Serial number 9.859.453, so from 1970-1974. I don't know wether it is an MC version or not as it isn't written on its front ring.
It's a nice lens on the Canon Eos 40D, easy to focus and to set aperture.
I don't find it especially heavy.
It gives nice colors and bokeh.

Some shots :
1- at F4

2- at F8

3-

4- landscape

5-

6- the bee

I think pretty use less on digital camera why we bring this size and slow lens on DSLR and use as an ordinary 50mm lens.
Try sometimes with film it will be shiny really.

By my opinion it can be recognized by purple and deep saturated antireflex layers on the front big glass. Otherwise I saw black CZJ lenses without multicoating.
I also advise to try it out on some film or full frame sensor. I tried it and was very happy with results.

Thank you Spleenone.
I hope that one day I'll try it on a FF. Very Happy
Else, I understand I'd better resell it...
