Hello.
The adapter for my Contax 1,4/85 is finally here.
I got it from eBay seller big_is .
I found out, however, that I cannot get true infinity focus with my EOS 5D II (as advertised by the seller).
While it focuses to about 50m away, this is not good enough as the following pictures show.
I think by f/5.6 it is OK, but of course I do not want to use this lens at 5.6 (at least most of the time).
Am I doing something wrong?
Do you have another adapter to recommend?

Yes, I have checked it with LiveView at 10X on a solid tripod.
However mine looks different than the one you showed me.
Do you think I should contact big_is ?

The adapter supports focus micro adjustment...
It seems I should be able to adjust it.

if you don't reach infinity with liveview, you have to do this procedure
I have not tuned my 85:1.4 but it should be the same way

How am I supposed to unscrew the front of the lens?
Just hold it and turn it counter-clockwise?
I feel a bit uncomfortable to do this, as it feels very solid and one single piece. It is going to unscrew? Are you sure the 85mm is built the same way? |

It took me a while, but at least I realized that this should sound funny.
Apparently, focus micro adjustment is only effective for the focus confirmation...
OK, I got too excited. |
