I am after a macro lens in M42 or Nikon F Mount for no more that £60, i realise my best bet is probably something like the NIKON 55mm f3.5 or similar. If somebody has a lens like this or very similar i would be very interested. I would prefer something around the 90-105mm mark so i can also use it as a long portrait lens but i think that will be outside my price range.

If you are into crop-sensor dslr, you can always buy a 50mm, it turns into a 80mm, cheaper and faster!

yeah i have a d40 so alls good in that respect so its looks like im after a 50-60mm macro lens Very Happy

Nikon 55m f3.5 NAI is a beautiful macro lens, very common and fit into your budget.
