I don't know anything about the lense Attila, but if it works on this http://cgi.ebay.com/CANON-EOS-ELAN-II-E-CAMERA-w-AF-28-210mm-1-3-5-5-6-/400123421581 I don't see any reason it wouldn't work on a 40D.

_________________ Ron |

There a several Sigma lenses and some Tokina lenses that do not work properly on a newer digital EOS!
I used to have an old Tokina AF 70-210 which could only be used in Av-Mode and wide open since the aperture control was malfunctioning on my 350D. The lens worked great on my EOS 500.
So, if a lens works on a film EOS, it does not mean that is also works on a digital EOS.
I have never heard that Tamron lenses have this problem, but as I said, many Sigma and some Tokina lenses do have it!
The 28-210 is surely no new lens, so I would recommend to try it first before buying it. Or ask and have the seller say it works. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

I'm glad you clarified this Carsten. I have had tamron lenses that I used on film EOS that worked great on my EOS digital cameras so I assumed the others would also. _________________ Ron |

I guess that's a Sigma problem only, because they never wanted to pay for the usage of the mount!
