(from the Takumar vs Rokkor thread)

Super Takumar (single coating)
SMC Takumar (multi coating)

Centre:

Super-Takumar 50mm F1.4

SMC Takumar 50mm F1.4

About the same. Maybe more contrast on the SMC.

Corners:

Super-Takumar 50mm F1.4

SMCTakumar 50mm F1.4

SMC is better!!!!

SMC Takumar corner, for different F-stops:

SMC Takumar 50mm F1.4 @ F1.4

SMC Takumar 50mm F1.4 @ F2

SMC Takumar 50mm F1.4 @ F2.8

SMC Takumar 50mm F1.4 @ F4

Improvement as it's stopped down.

Don't forget to test light sensitivity also. ie. flaring and whiteout
I think SMC becomes most helpful in conditions were the front element is subject to the effects of light(both direct and indirectly)

Another question should be that both lenses have the same yellowish tint. (UV light for the two?).

I took this picture to add it to a report I had to build, I thought it was interesting to share it, to show how efficient the S-M-C is, to reduce reflexions. I'll need some time to do a "real" comparison between the two lenses Smile

You are a takumar specialist, do all you want or need to do. The result will be OK.
