Hi All,

Over the years - like many of you, I'm sure - I've accumulated a bunch of preset T-mount lenses that arrived wearing adapters I couldn't use (I need M42 or Pentax K). I've got a few M42 T-adapters, and I have no problem swapping them around among these lenses, but I recently decided to buy a couple of additional adapters, just to make life easier.

In addition, I've been wanting to use M42 T-adapters to create homemade adapters for some M40-thread lenses and Exakta-mount lenses - all for macro work. And I didn't want to modify any of my vintage adapters for that purpose.

With all of that in mind, I recently purchased two new M42 T-adapters, of Chinese manufacture, on eBay. One wouldn't screw onto a camera at all, and the other barely managed to do so - but only with the application of what I consider to be excessive force. (I'm not naming the seller here - if anyone's interested, please send me a PM.)

So I'm wondering: can anyone recommend a reliable source of new T-adapters that are trouble-free?

Many thanks!

Jon

Jon
the quality of the chinese T2 adapters varies from batch to batch.
However, i never experienced the problems you mentioned.

Send me a pm with which T2 adapters you need. i can try to fit them before sending these to you.

I'm sure Alex has good ones. A source also are Astro shops as T-mounts for various cameras are standard there and these are of high quality usually, so you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the replies.

Alex, I will send a PM. I should have contacted you in the first place! This was an impulse purchase; I should learn to govern those impulses.

And Klaus, thank you so much for the recommendation. I hadn't even thought about the astrophotography sources, but that's a wonderful idea.

Cheers,

Jon
