The Minolta 21mm has some fungus on the rear element, but the lens is sharp even wide open, the bokeh is so so, and there is some weird CA
I'm planing on using those lenses for some serious movie stuff on the GH1
and let me know if you want the full sized files or any crops
thanks!! |

Personally, I think there are comparable Minolta lenses. There are MC & MD 50mm F1.4, and I have a couple of MC 58mm F1.4, one of which is exceptional!!
I did some tests, and these lenses were superior to the Super-Takumar 50mm F1.4
I have an S-M-C Takumar and an SMC Takumar 50mm F1.4, but I have not tested them against the Minoltas yet. |

Of course I mean there're no comparable Minolta lenses tested at the same time against the SMC Takumar 50/1.4, but I would not be too surprised if the MC/MD Minoltas at least hold their own against the comparable Takumars. |

I like the samples.
The Tak lens performs OK, I still feel it's highly overrated. @ 1.4 pic#2 is quite soft, which is OK for a portrait. I prefer bright crisp eyes in portraits so I tend to stop down a bit when shooting like this.
Nice smaple though, the composition of #2 is near perfect. _________________ Nikons : F4-EM-FG-FE2-FA-EL-FTN-N2020-N70-F Nikkorex
