Hi,I`ve just registered here and i am searching the net to find some
reference about a MF lens.(excuse my English if it`s not correct)
The lens i own is a PRIMAX 135mm/3.5 (Japan)
Would like to know some more about it.
P.S. I would like to leave a picture of it here , but i don`t know how.
Thanks KISS XII.[/img]

Hi Kiss, welcome to the forum. You can use the Upload picture button above the message panel when you write a new message. Send the picture then when you see it, click on the word "standard" below it and this inserts it into your message.

Alternatively you can paste a link to the picture into the message, highlight it and then click on the Img button above the panel. This directs viewers to your storage site so be careful if you have bandwidth limits.

We have an anti-spam feature that prevents new first-timers posting images, but don't wrry if it doesn't work first time. SOmeone else will post it and then you'll be OK after that.

About your lens, there are so many brandnames of Japanese 135 lenses, I think over 500, but they are all made by just a handful of manufacturers. When you post a picture of it I;m sure someone will recognise it.

Not really. There was Sankor, Komine, Tokina, Tamron and probably a few others as well Smile

I uploaded your pics with the Upload picture button. You should be able to post pics directly yourself from now on.

This is a typical Japanese other-brand 135, with preset aperture and T mount. Probably not exceptionally high quality, but there aren't very many poor 135s.

I had one of these branded "Prinz Galaxy" (no kidding). Optical performance was surprisingly good for a single-coated old 135mm. However, its minimum focus distance was rather long; something like 2.2m.

Still looking for specifications and/or references for my Primax 135mm/3.5 lens
Surfing the net i found the brand name Primax-Pallas
on a Praktica users forum.
Does it ring any bells ?

Searching for the brand name won't give you anything other than maybe some corporate history (if even that). It's just an importer, not a manufacturer, and maybe not even a real company, just a brand name.

The lens itself is a 4/4 construction, Ernostar type. Single coated, preset diaphragm. I counted about 10 aperture blades. MFD 2.2m. 49mm filter thread. T2 mount. That's pretty much all I know about it.

I had one in my hands yesterday in a dumpstore
it was in perfect condition , exact the same as
the above one (prinzgalaxy, with single aperture ring)
now with the name Pallas.
